Effective July 1, 2008, the Legal Consultation Grant has been expanded to address costs incurred as a result of Identity Theft and the annual grant allocation has been increased to $2,500 annually.
The Grant will continue to apply to assist school officials with the identification, investigation, remediation and documentation of allegations of Hostile Environment and issues related to Employment Liability.
Hostile Environment allegations include issues of harassment and/or bullying whether arising out of student, employee or other third parties behavior toward your students in the school environment.
Employment Liability issues include hiring, termination, harassment, and discrimination.
Additionally, the Legal Consultation Grant has been expanded to assist school officials following an Identity Theft event.
Identity Theft is the actual or alleged negligent release of personal identification information of your employees or students in the care, custody and control of the school district.
The Grant may be applied to both legal and Identity Theft Expenses incurred by the school district.
Identity Theft Expenses include costs incurred by the school district to notify individuals of the potential theft of personally identifying information, notarization of fraud affidavits and certified mail costs to law enforcement and other governmental or regulatory agencies.
CSDSIP will monitor the application of the grant through the forms submitted by you and your legal counsel. CSDSIP will provide written notice when the $2,500 benefit has been exhausted.
