This new coverage expansion has been added to the pool package at no charge to our Members. The coverage was developed following the Platte Canyon School District incident in which we received a grant through General Reinsurance Corporation, a reinsurer on the Pool’s coverage. Through this grant we were able to provide reimbursement for a number of expenses incurred that were not covered under an insurance claim. CSDSIP crafted a School Crisis Act Coverage which allows Members to have certain non-claim related expenses covered in the event of a defined act such as attorney fees for the Member and board counsel after the event, media specialist to assist the Member during the aftermath of a crisis, additional labor costs for administrative functions, etc.
If you have any questions concerning our coverages, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this exciting new coverage enhancement.
